    Union Street Dedication

    Indiana University formally dedicated Union Street Center, the first new residential complex to open on the IU Bloomington campus in more than 40 years.

    Union Street Center offers one-, two-, and four-bedroom units to undergraduate students. All apartments are fully furnished and feature energy-efficient appliances, granite countertops, fully carpeted living rooms and bedrooms, ceramic bathroom flooring, wooden kitchen flooring, air conditioning, card-access security, cable television, wireless Internet service and insulated windows.

    Chancellor Harris installation at IUK

    Michael Harris was installed as Chancellor of the Indiana University Kokomo campus in a ceremony Friday, October 22, 2010. IU President Michael McRobbie conducted the official installation, followed by speakers Kathleen Ligocki, B.A.'78, L.H.D. '02, Dianne Roden, professor of finance, and Harris, Ph.D. '93.

    Harris recently served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Kettering University in Flint, Mich. He worked for Kettering from 2007 to 2010, and was also a professor of public policy. He served as vice president for academic affairs at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., from 2004-07and as associate provost at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Mich., from 2000-04. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics and business administration from Bar-Ilan University in Israel in 1982 and a master's degree in public management and budgeting from Tel Aviv University in Israel in 1986. He earned his Ph.D. from IU in 1993. He is also a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Education's Institute for Educational Management and the Management Development Program.

    2010 State of the University Address

    Following a year of record-breaking progress, Indiana University will rededicate itself to the "principles of excellence" that have helped the university position itself as one of the state's most successful enterprises in spite of continuing financial challenges. IU President Michael McRobbie delivered his State of the University address from the IUPUI campus.
